The Pillars of Healthy Life

Today, we all lack patience. Not only this, but we consider it a virtue. We nurture this lack of patience under the pretext that ‘we are very time-consuming’. We want to gain more in less time. As a result, we are interested in building a landless building.

We make the same mistake about health. Instead of taking precautions beforehand, we want to get well soon by taking medicine after falling ill. Instead of eradicating the disease from its root, we intend to remain healthy only through external treatment. There is a saying in English, ‘Prevention is better than cure’, which means that it is better to take precautions so that the disease does not occur than to treat it after the disease occurs. Keeping this in mind, three basic pillars have been mentioned to remain healthy. By following them, we will be able to remain disease-free, healthy and always happy without medicines throughout our lives

 PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

Diet is the first step in building a person’s body and thoughts (mind). According to the saying “Diet is medicine”, diet is the main reason for the health and ill health of the body. If we understand how much food to eat? When to eat? How to eat? What kind of food do I eat? And with what feeling to eat? And if we follow this, then we can live a healthy life without medicine. Now let us try to live a healthy life by finding solutions to the above questions.

God has made some rules for living life, by following which we can live a healthy and happy life throughout our life Sleep is also one such thing.

By Charak Rishi has said this sentence in Sanskrit:

Sleep is considered to be as pleasant as food in the functioning of the body

Meaning: As much as food is necessary for the maintenance of the body, deep sleep is also considered to be necessary.

God has created the day for work and night for rest. In today’s age of rapid industrialization, we find it unnecessary to give enough time for sleep. We always have one thing in our mind that, ‘I don’t have time.’ And as this mentality increases, we start making changes in the time of sleep.

The biggest bad habit of today’s era is that we like to work less during the day, while we like to work till late at night.

Whatever work we can do during the day, we can do it only based on sleep at night. The need for sleep is different depending on the age of each person.

In this way, every person should sleep as per his age and requirement. If one gets into the habit of sleeping more than the said time, then it is harmful for health. People doing mental labour require more sleep. Apart from this, the direction in which we sleep also has a great impact on our health.

In the present era, the number of diseases is increasing a lot. Many diseases which were never heard of before are now heard of and seen. Today, people of a very young age fall prey to diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and heart attack, because today’s food preferences are like junk food. We are more inclined towards things made of flour, like pizza, burgers, and sandwiches, and we eat very heavy food. Due to today’s luxurious lifestyle, there is always a lack of labour in life. We are not able to give time for peaceful food and sleep, then how will we find time for labour?

We consider Pranayam and Yogasana unnecessary and a waste of time, but we do not accept that this is laziness. Today, we do not even have the faith and enthusiasm to exercise daily. But it has to be remembered that this type of negligence will not allow us to remain physically and mentally healthy

Today, 80% of the youth in the world are living a life without any kind of physical labour. One of the top 10 causes of death in the world is a life without labour. Every day, around 2600 people in the world are dying due to a life without labour.

Diabetes is the number one disease in Indian youth. In the last 20 years, the importance of labour has decreased a lot among the youth generation. People waste a lot of time on TV, mobile, cinema, etc. and this harms their health.

Today, we cannot bear even a small disease, and to cure it, we go down the wrong path of many medicines. If we consider ourselves well educated, then instead of becoming slaves of these types of medicines, can’t we live a healthy life by doing a little labour every day?

Many people believe that one can remain healthy and fit by just taking nutritious food. But only the proper balance of work and food keeps the body healthy and fit.
